ANTI-DIRK OPTION

Dirk has set up a new autoresponder option known as Anti-Dirk. Anti-Dirk will speak on Dirk's behalf if Dirk is preoccupied elsewhere. Please clarify in your header if you would like to have Anti-Dirk respond to your character. This will provide a more candid interaction with Dirk. They will automatically get the following response to begin a conversation:

Hello. It seems you are trying to reach Dirk Strider. If you would like to get a quick idea of what he would say, I would be happy to help. I am ANTI-DIRK and will be able to provide answers based on his subconscious patterns of speech and emotions. How can I help you today?

(Dirk is doing one of his Dirk things, preoccupied with a splint, and so it winds up being Anti-Dirk K gets through to. And Anti-Dirk has a standardized message he knows he's supposed to say, but he's also still an actual splint of Dirk, and therefore he isn't a complete machine.

The reaction to the image is immediately apparent as Anti-Dirk briefly takes over K's Omni. The screen goes black, before a pair of red triangular sunglasses pop, and then a very loud noise clip plays of a generic anime girl going "HUUUYAAAH!!!!!"

The screen returns to normal and Anti-Dirk releases control of K's phone so that he can pull himself together!)

Oh my God! K! I love it (///∇///✿)

Ahhhnnyyaa!! We have such a handsome boyfriend!!! I technically do not have a body, but if I did, it would be reacting in so many physical ways. I can practically imagine the data flow - or is it blood flow? Blood flow!

Oh shit. I'm supposed to say the thing. My bad. Hold on:

[ Oh — the brief takeover of his Omni manages to startle K, especially that unholy sound clip. What the hell. But it has him laughing a moment later as he realises who he must have gotten through to in lieu of Dirk. Of course. The confirmation comes and he's smiling at the screen. Were he anyone else, his growing fondness of this particular splint would probably seem weird. But he isn't anyone else, he's an android who feels a certain kinship with what is essentially A.I. Dirk. It's hard not to.

Though really, he's fond of every splint he's met because they're all facets of 'his' Dirk... whom he's becoming more than just fond of. ]

Oh, hello again. And thank you for the compliment. A good data flow is important too, especially in your case. You know, if you were an ISO file, I'd love to mount you. [ Badum-tssss. ]

It's all right, this isn't anything he needs to be interrupted for. It can wait until he's finished with his work. [ If that's what Dirk's doing. Maybe he's just relaxing? ] But I am curious. Do you know what he's up to?

(This was a part of Dirk that was incredibly open with his affection, shy though he may be with it at times. It's pretty much the most earnest version of Dirk available, tapped straight from his subconscious. So that raw affection for K? Completely telling. Dirk would hate it if he didn't think K deserved to know how fond he had become of him in return.)

You are welcome. And thank you! I am happy to receive the review. Dirk's intention of my creation was to foster the nicer parts of him! I am sure he will be happy to know it seems to be working!

(Dirk was also probably going to die from embarrassment but that's just the nature of the beast.)

I understand. If he dies, we'll all feel it! And I don't think I'm available for him to jump to. I guess it can't be helped though. He is technically a Prince and that is a Destroyer class.

They must destroy or the very fabric of their existence is rendered pointless in the mechanics of the game. They were selected as Destroyers because their personalities suit the role even without the influence of the game. He will always take risks. It is his class! The active classes are so extreme ;p;

But you and me can still fret from afar. We are the passive classes.

Can you explain what you mean by active and passive classes in the context of that game? I've only been told a little about it and Dirk's role as the Prince of Heart.

I know taking risks is his thing, and that he'd probably be restless and unhappy if he wasn't able to. I just hope he's careful for all our sakes. [ Naturally including the splints in that, too. ] Especially so soon after that coma we still don't know the cause of. I don't want to lose him.

That makes sense. I wonder if we would be able to connect through the network... The topic came up when Dirk and I were talking about ways he could help me, so I've been thinking about it.
